What We Do
Birmingham Creates' vision is to provide a world-class cultural education for every child and young person in the city. We do this by working in partnership with leaders, influencers and thinkers in this field and work on initiatives to make a difference and foster new cross-sector collaborations.
Actively assisting with the development and design of a suite of cultural education projects
Piloting or developing local targeted projects with impact and legacy
Working with the sector to develop the talent pipeline through education and placements
Engaging with young people on what they and need and want from cultural education
Birmingham Creates is the name for the Birmingham Cultural Education Partnership (CEP).
Our work focuses on creating greater equality of cultural opportunity for children and young people.
Our members are from diverse areas of the cultural and educational sector and include; dance, theatre, arts, higher education, primary education, music hubs and business.

As part of the Birmingham Youth Cultural Festival, Artslink partnered with Birmingham Education Partnership, Birmingham City University and Birmingham Cultural Educational Partnership, to launch an art competition for Birmingham schools.

Steve Ball, a member of the Birmingham Creates steering group, fills us in on Sofa School, an arts podcast for children aged 5-11 to support creativity at home. Includes dance, story-telling, drama, music and art activities.
